I always wanted to be a mom. It was always my greatest wish and I just knew it would be the most wonderful, fulfilling, and joyful time of my life…right? And it was…sometimes.

But sometimes…it wasn't.

And then, life happened and I found myself a single parent, struggling to maintain that joy with my children while feeling completely overwhelmed and uncertain.

I'm Melissa Walsh, Parent Coach and widowed mother of three, and I want to walk with you through the times when parenting is stressful, overwhelming, and you just can't find the family balance you long for.

Together, we’ll:

  • Identify what’s not working — the frustrations, the worries, the power struggles.
  • Highlight the strengths already present in your family (yes, they’re there!).
  • Create a clear vision for the kind of home and relationships you truly want.
  • Co-design practical, personalized steps that bring that vision to life.

With support, insight, and a proven framework, you’ll begin to see your family dynamic shift — and you’ll finally feel the peace and confidence you’ve been searching for. I work with all types of households—two-parent and single-parent, with children of all ages (even young adults)—and I would love to get to know your family.

Additionally, if you’re a widow like me, I have the lived experience to understand the added complications of your parenting journey. I am able to listen with true empathy and help you regain your footing after your world has turned upside down.

Parenting isn’t about perfection. It’s about connection, growth, and joy—and you don’t have to walk this path alone.

With 30 years of experience in education, early childhood development, and my own personal 25+ years as a parent of three thriving young adults, I am passionate about creating environments that will send thriving, successful humans out into the world and create loving family environments in the process.

What Parents Say After Coaching With Me

Working with Melissa has been such a blessing. She came into my life during a Camp Widow event. Her compassion, understanding, and gentle guidance helped me feel truly seen and supported in ways I didn’t even realize I needed. Melissa creates a safe space where you can be honest about your grief while also finding hope and direction again. She has an incredible ability to help you focus on what truly matters, like being present for my boys and supporting them as they grow. Combining empathy with practical, actionable tools, her coaching has been truly transformative. I’m so grateful for the clarity and peace I’ve gained through my time with her.

I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance Melissa has provided to me. As a parent navigating typical, and sometimes overwhelming, challenges of raising teens, I truly can’t imagine a more compassionate and insightful coach by my side. With three children at different stages of adolescence, there are moments of conflict and uncertainty where I needed clarity, empathy, and direction—which I have found in Melissa, as a parent coach. Melissa helped me approach conflict resolution in a way that felt respectful, balanced, and effective. She modeled and encouraged genuine empathy, helping me better understand my children’s perspectives while also honoring my role as a parent. What stood out most was her ability to offer thoughtful suggestions I hadn’t even considered—ideas and approaches that felt both practical and deeply meaningful. Her calm presence, insights, and encouragement made a meaningful difference in our family dynamics. Because of Melissa, I feel more confident, connected, and equipped to handle teen issues with greater patience and understanding.
