I love looking at the world through the eyes of a child. They’ve been on this earth for such a short time. We have so much to teach them—and they have so much to teach us! Take your time. Notice the small things. Have fun!

Picture this scene: You’ve got 20 minutes to get out the door, and your child isn’t dressed yet. What do you do? Demand your child get dressed, or else you’ll be late? Count to 5? Or maybe… “Welcome to the Chariot Awaits Boutique! Here, you can choose from the three outfits that are displayed on this lovely bed. Which outfit would you like to wear, my dear? That will be five hundred dollars.”

Being playful with children is much more fun than losing your cool, but it doesn’t always come naturally. I get it. I want to show you how fascinating your child’s world is, and I want to hear about your experience. Being a PCI Certified Parent Coach® allows me to have a back and forth exchange with a parent, sharing stories and ideas. We’ll explore what works best for you and your family.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development, and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. As an early childhood educator/nanny for more than 30 years, and a stepmom for almost 10, I’ve experienced a whole range of parenting joys and challenges. Working with parents has been a passion of mine throughout my career. Let’s pick apart parenting together.

What Parents Say After Coaching With Me

I was extremely fortunate to come across Alex in a parenting forum from our town-just when I needed her the most! Dealing with a toddler who is opinionated and stubborn (even though they all are!) is not at all easy. Alex is a creative thinker who got me to figure out not only new ways to communicate with my son but also how to watch out for my own well-being and mental sanity in the process. She always takes the time to send me useful information via email, even when we aren’t meeting, which reminds me how invested she is. She has a great sense of humor, is easy to work with and is always prompt and careful to not waste time. She really has helped come up with some great tricks and tips to getting through this rough age. I’m forever grateful for her help.

Working with Alex has really helped to underscore the importance of play, during ALL parts of the day, with my preschool-aged daughter. She has helped me to grow in ways that I didn’t know were possible. I am extremely thankful for her non-judgmental, positive approach to working alongside me to become a better and more effective parent by giving me ideas and strategies to incorporate play and playful approaches to typically challenging times throughout our day. I like to say that when trying to get my daughter to cooperate and join me for lunch that I’d rather be an Australian waitress than a frustrated, exasperated mom; and likewise for bath time—I’d rather be a stylist in a salon than engage in a power struggle in an effort to get her hair washed and conditioned. The amazing thing is that she asks for these games that I made up in desperation, while channeling Alex’s words, again and again. I would wholeheartedly recommend working with Alex.
