A Parent Coach offers you a confidential environment to gain new perspectives and tools to grow as the exceptional family you know you can be. I will escort you as your sounding board and family support. I will empower you as a parent while helping you discover practical tools to bring growth for your whole family. I have nearly 20 years of experience working with all types of families, including those with special needs, as well as my own. I understand how tough it can be to navigate the systems to find the best help for your child. Allow me to help you, so you may help your child.

Together, we can come up with practical ways for you to take care of yourself when you are overwhelmed by your responsibilities to others. Parent coaching can help you work through some of the many challenges of raising your unique children.

As the proud Mom of two remarkable, differently abled young men, I understand what it means to live with the joys, frustrations, demands, and courage required to be a special needs parent. I appreciate the strength that is necessary to become an advocate for a child, as well as the challenge and success of building a collaborative team with medical, insurance, schools, therapies, and countless other providers.

I am on a similar journey; allow me to walk alongside you. I am delighted to work with parents of children with or without special needs who are seeking parent coaching.

Professionally, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#LCSW87309) in private practice in Calilfornia. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and my professional Parent Coach Certification® through PCI as well as ADHD Coaching Certification. I am passionate about supporting individuals, parents and families through times of life transitions. I am experienced in assisting and advocating for people as they embrace the person they were born to be and navigate life challenges, including special needs, depression or anxiety.

Working from a holistic approach, I strive to help my clients become more self-aware, nourish their strengths, and form authentic connections between themselves and their children.

My clinical style is straightforward and practical, anchored in the reality of everyday life. I have developed the capacity to approach complex issues with simplicity and have learned to honor strength without minimizing suffering.

What Parents Say After Coaching With Me

I have worked with Shari as a parent couch for almost six years. She has helped me, through therapy and parent coaching to understand that each of my three children have learning issues and their behavior ‘problems’ were, in fact, them signaling us that they required more, appropriate attention. She helped my husband and I work toward solutions and helped us understand our children and each other. To put it as simply as possible, Shari saved my marriage and helped me become the parent I was meant to me. I learn so much working together and feel ‘lighter’ and more hopeful after sessions with Shari. I cannot recommend her enough; she is a shining star, and I am thankful.

Time spent with Shari Grande, LCSW is an absolute ‘must’ if you are a parent of a child with learning differences or any kind of special need. Shari has done a wonderful job helping our family navigate the infinite facets, both good and bad, of our special new world. She is a wealth of knowledge, warm, empathetic and so very kind, she is truly a delight to work with. Our conversations are always insightful, comprehensive, educational and she has the ability to make hard topics feel easier and less ‘heavy.’ I always feel much better equipped to deal with my son’s behavioral and medical challenges as well as the medical community and our school district after a session with Shari. As we worked together over the past four years, I came to realize that there were issues with my non-special needs’ child. Once again, Shari helped focus in on the meaning behind the behavior so I could be a more compassionate parent and have a calmer, kinder home.

I highly recommend Shari Grande, LCSW to any parent struggling with any aspect of parenting—special needs or otherwise.
