A Conversation with Craig Anderson, Ph.D.

Our conversation with Dr. Anderson focused on the important distinctions between aggression and violence and violent media as a contributing factor to both. With confusing information out there for parents regarding media violence’s impact on children’s and teens' behavior, the hour with Dr. Anderson who has spent over 30 years researching the topic, was informative and enlightening. Gloria DeGaetano, PCI Founder and Director, kicked off the discussion by asking Dr. Anderson to clarify the research findings regarding the distinctions between aggression and violence. Participants then asked questions that supported better understanding of what parents can do to ensure their kids are protected from negative effects.

The 2018 document "Risk Factors for Youth Violence" mentioned in the discussion is available for download.
