I am a Parent Coach who specializes in families in transition. I have a health background and help families focus on healthy living. Having three children of my own, I coach from experience. I am also a Foreign Service spouse (since 2000) and have learned to deal with family issues from the stress of relocation, school issues, medical advocacy situations, pregnancy, and divorce, as well as family angst—especially those associated with relocation. I have assisted families with these relocation issues, as well as other parenting issues such as newly pregnant families transitioning to embrace new babies, adolescent and teenage behavioral issues, and parents wanting to redefine and focus on their parenting goals and values.
Parenting is a special role that can bring such joy. I can help you discover and embrace your joy.

I live in northern Virginia with my husband, our lovely two year-old daughter, and our dog and cat. I earned my Ph.D. in applied developmental psychology from the University of Miami in 1998 with a specialty in early intervention with children at risk for developmental disabilities. Currently, I am an assistant professor in the psychology department at the University of Mary Washington where I teach courses in child development, statistics, and research methods. I became a PCI Certified Parent Coach® in October of 2005. I maintain a private parent coaching practice, where I use the PCI model to support parents in addressing the challenges they face in a manner consistent with their values and beliefs.
